The Alpilles

The Alpilles lie in the department of Bouches-du-Rhone and represent a small limestone massif of Provence, between the Crau (south) and the plain of Châteaurenard (north), deeply raviné, the slopes covered with scrubland.

The Alpilles called in Occitan Provencal "leis Aupilhas" according to the standard classical or "read Aupiho" according to the standard mistralienne.

The Alpilles are a "must" unavoidable of Provence: sublime harmony of landscapes, nature remained a wild and traditions carefully preserved.
