It is a mosaic of identities and landscapes which
focuses marked and unfolds around the Verdon. From Valensole plateau in
Artuby, hills du Haut-Var the Alps, Lake St. Croix to narrow canyons, a
good sampling and splendid natural scenery awaits you.
A
real paradise for hikers of any tempering, which are necessarily path
to their feet: the Valensole plateau is crossed paths very mild, while
in the medium mountains of Artuby, it borrows the old mule trails, less
steep than the drailles accessing the highest peaks in the park on the
side of Saint Andrew the Alps. Further down the bottom of gorges, the
Buffs canoeing and canyoning can happily indulge their passion.
For cultural and historical step, it will blow a heart of the Museum of
Prehistory in Quinson. Its contemporary architecture is the work of
famous architect Norman Foster.
Grand Canyon du Verdon
Hack gigantic caused by the uprising of the Alps, the canyon can reach
700 m deep. "The corniche sublime" overlooks the left bank of Verdon
and offers beautiful views on the river. Gazebos: sublime point at the
foot of the village of Rougon, cliffs and the helm of the Escalès, Lake
Swietokrzyskie, Galetas, Samson corridor ... From the village of La
Palud, the road crests used to complete the grand canyon by both sides.
It takes 2 to 3 hour drive by car.
Lake Sainte Croix:
It is the largest, it stretches over 10km long and 3km wide. At the
bridge of Galetas, a large beach slips into the turquoise waves. The
nautical bases are scattered on the perimeter, allowing practice of
sailing, the windsurfing, canoeing, catamaram, pedal .... Fishermen can
happily indulge in their favorite sport while hikers will find a maze
of beautiful trails to follow around the lake.
